Lake Tahoe Wedding - Stephanie and Eugene

Stephanie and Eugene were married on the banks of Lake Tahoe at the Zephyr Cove Resort. When Stephanie told me they were getting married in Lake Tahoe, I think I was as excited as she was! It's one of my favorite places in the world...the water, streams and mountains are what my dreams are made of.

I first met Stephanie at the Eye and Laser Center in 2005?, where I was doing some consulting work. She asked me to do their holiday photos back in 2008 (they are the first card example in the blog post) and this July I did their engagement session in Flagstaff. Each session was so much of fun. This couple not only make each other laugh, but make everyone else giggle as well. Their happiness and love for one another is infectious.

I was so excited to be able to go to Lake Tahoe for their wedding! Here are a few of my favorites, but you can see more on my Facebook account.

Stephanie's band had yellow diamonds. I've never seen that before; I thought that was really beautiful!

I LOVE these shoes! Kristen and I must have taken 50 photos of the shoes alone. Fancy shoes on a wedding day are fabulous!

Their dog, Rosco, was in the wedding. He did really well! My dogs would have taken off after a bird:) He looks so handsome in his bowtie!

I loved the grass field right behind the tented reception. It was perfect for their photos after the ceremony! We had to climb a couple of fences to get into the grass, but I feel like it was worth it.

The cake was gorgeous! I loved the sugar flowers!

Stephanie was a stunning bride, she looked like she walked right out of a bridal magazine!

This couple is the sweetest, and are so much in love. We were all crying during the ceremony. I remember looking over at my assistant, and she was even wiping a tear off her face.

This sunset was so amazing! I love the rocks! We sprinted to this area to get here before sunset. Stephanie beat me there, wearing a wedding dress and high heels. That girl is fast! :) I tried to take a photo of us sprinting, but it was blurry...I was more concerned with not falling down while I was running I suppose.

Thank you to my wonderful assistant, Kristen Gruber, for making the trip with me. These images would not be possible if not for her hauling around most of my equipment for the day, holding the remote lights, and of course, shooting her own great images. Thank you!

Congrats Stephanie and Eugene! Thank you for having us as your photographers! I can't wait to do those newborn photos...but...no pressure...:) !!

Snowbowl Resort Wedding - Mairen and Jason

I'll admit, I've let my blogging fall to the side. But, I promise to get caught up! Below is a beautiful wedding at Snowbowl Lodge of the sweet Mairen and Jason. When I first met with this couple, I absolutely fell in love with them. I remember going home and telling my husband, "oh, I hope they hire me, they were the sweetest!". Not only them, but I also fell in love with their families. Special thanks to my fabulous assistant photographer, Melissa Keniski, who drove up from Phoenix to help me out!

Mairen and Jason, thank you so much for having me as your photographer! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Flagstaff Family Photography-The Young Family

Meet the Young family, Aspen, Jessica, Pat and baby Elden! I must say, Flagstaff is one of the most beautiful places on earth during the summer, and this family session was perfect underneath the aspens and among the ferns. Just paradise! I was SO excited when Jessica said they'd like to do their session here, even if it meant a bit more of a drive for them. Thanks Jessica! Only a few of my favorites are here, but you can see more on my Facebook Account.

As an example of just what a small world Flagstaff can be...When I was developing the images, my husband walked in the studio. He said, "Oh, you photographed Pro Pat's family?" It turns out that Pat used to be a road bike racer a few years ago, and I suppose his reputation for being one of the fastest is still with him! He raced on a team, Safe Kids, an organization that I volunteer with during the school year doing bicycle education for elementary kids. It is a small world!

This is my favorite family shot, they just look so happy and content!

I LOVE this one of Aspen. Almost as much as I LOVE her full name: Aspen Lea Lorraine. It's almost as pretty as she is!

Meet little Elden Shiro, what a cutie he is! He has some amazing big, beautiful brown eyes!

Love this one of Aspen and Elden...I love sibling photos like this!

What a sweet family! Thank you so much!

Engagement Session- Stephanie and Eugene

I was so happy when Stephanie called me to photograph her wedding! I photographed she and Eugene back in late 2008 as a holiday session. I had a feeling the next photo session would be this one! They are getting married at Lake Tahoe, in a beautiful place called Zephyr Cove. I absolutely can't wait! Stephanie and Eugene are two of the sweetest people I've ever met. Eugene has a way to make Stephanie laugh on command, I even found myself cracking up over his wit. I'm just so happy that they found each other. It was near impossible to pick my favorites for this post, so I included the slideshow at the end. You can also see more on my Facebook account. Congrats to you both!

Ahhh....the beauty of the Aspens. Love them!

Here's a few from our downtown portion of the engagement session!

Stephanie and Eugene met at San Felipe, so we had to get this shot!

Here's one of my absolute favorites....Eugene prompting Steph to dance with him in the street!

Love this series, just shows how much they adore one another. :)

One final photo before the slideshow...what a great couple! In editing these photos all I wanted to do was SMILE!

And finally, here's the slideshow! Congrats to Stephanie and Eugene!

Newborn Session - Karcy Bloom

Welcome baby Karcy Bloom! This little baby is the daughter of Marcy and Kevin (you might remember their family session last summer), and is a big piece of sweetie pie. She lives in Phoenix and it was nice to be able to spend the day down there in the sunshine. (I travel quite a bit to the valley for photo sessions, so give me a call if you live down there!) She was an angel to work with, and snoozed through most of our session. Here are only a few of my favorites, you can see more on my facebook account and her slideshow here.

Welcome to the world little angel!

What a sweetheart! She opened her eyes just briefly enough for me to get a few open eyes shots.

I adore this one in her dad's hands, so sweet!

Here's the whole family! Big brothers Kobe and Ryan, and big sis Kevy!

I love this one of Kevin kissing her cheek, I think she was smiling!

Engagement Session- Julee and Ben

Julee and Ben are getting married next month in Utah, and wanted to squeeze in an engagement session in Flagstaff before their wedding. We had a lot of fun finding props and using the ones her parents brought along! What a sweet couple, I absolutely fell in love with them and am really, really jealous that I don't get to photograph their wedding. But, I know it's going to be just perfect and Julee is going to be a GORGEOUS bride! Here are a few of my favorites, you can see more on my Facebook account. Congrats to you both!

My new favorite wall in Flagstaff! I loved Julee's outfit, it was perfect!

I love this old, vintage 1941 Chevy truck! It was perfect with her outfit!

This bike was Julee's dad's bike from when they lived in California. I love using props, especially ones that are sentimental like this one.

The sun is perfect right before it dips behind the trees. Love it!

Julee's mom found this antique bench at a yard sale. It looks great!

Julee is such a stunning woman, and I can't even begin to image just how beautiful she is going to look on her wedding day! I can't wait to see the photos!

Tucson Wedding-Jeanne and Stephen

Jeanne and Stephen were married in Tucson, at Stephen's parent's beautiful estate at the foot of the Catalina Mountains. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking! But the real beauty of this event was this couple-how sweet they were with each other, and how much in love they are. It was near impossible to pick out some favorites, but here are a few. You can also see more on my Facebook account and be sure and check out their slideshow here. Thank you so much Jeanne and Stephen! Congrats!

I loved the combination of anemones and orchids in Jeanne's bouquet, they were so beautiful. Jeanne's dress was perfect for her, and she looked gorgeous.

What a beautiful bride! Jeanne got ready at the Tucson National Golf Course that had some great places for bridal portraits.

Jeanne is an animal lover, just like me, so I thought it was perfect that she printed the photos of her two pets on her program. Instead of traditional favors, Jeanne and Stephen chose to give donations to the ASPCA. I think that is a perfect way to treat guests, by donating to a cause! Jeanne's mom was a sweetheart and I loved getting to know her better. The below left photo is of Jeanne's dad, who passed away last April. I thought it was so sweet that she carried a photo of him in her bouquet.

What great bridesmaids! We had a lot of fun doing the photos!

Stephen and the groomsmen outside the house before the ceremony. The backdrop was perfect!

I really do think Jeanne and I are soul sisters, because steel drum bands are my FAVORITE too! Seriously, they take me back to time in the Florida Keys, scuba diving with my friends and Mojitos in Miami. I loved the mood they create, so relaxed and fun!

The ceremony was so sweet. They each wrote their own vows and I don't think there was a dry eye in the crowd!

Jumping photos are always fun!

Jeanne and Stephen, what a great couple!

The top photo was taken right after the sun dipped behind the mountains. It made the ceremony site look fantastic. Jeanne works for New Belgium Brewing Company, so I had to get a shot of the beer!

What a fun weekend! Congrats to you both and I hope to see you again soon!
