Audrey & Brandon-Tapatio Cliffs Resort

I met Audrey and Brandon at the Tapatio Cliffs Resort for their engagement shoot last weekend. They are getting married on a cruise next month and I'm really sad I won't be there for the wedding. Audrey is going to be a stunning bride! But, we're going to do a post-wedding session at the end of January and that's going to fun! They were a blast to work with and I love the images that we got from the day. Here are some of my favorites!
I loved the contrast with the sun shining through these classic iron archway:
We couldn't resist this staircase either. I saw this image in black and white before I even pulled this one up on my computer!
This one was shot in direct sun, but I love the shadows!
Audrey is so beautiful! Brandon was behind me when this was taken telling me all of her nicknames! The secret is safe with me Brandon!
Brandon's been told he looks a lot like Sean Penn. I really didn't see it until I started developing the photos!
The resort had some really interesting iron gates. I love this one!
We were in the elevator when I snapped this one.
What pretty eyes!
Finally the happy couple; thanks for giving me the opportunity guys!

Nicola and Pinot

My great friend, Nicola Marsh, was in Flagstaff for less than 24 hours this past weekend. She brought her dog, Pinot, whom she rescued from the Second Chance Center over a year ago. Pinot is a total princess now, a far cry from her life before Nicola. It's hard to keep up with Nicola! She's usually training for some great adventure, from going on an expedition to Everest, running a marathon in Antarctica, to hiking across the state of Hawaii. It makes the rest of us seem a little lazy:) She's on her way to TX for a Occupational Therapy job for three months. I miss you already Nicola!

Jennell & Mark

Jennell and Mark eloped in Flagstaff last month and I was honored to be there for them. They were staying at the England House, which is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast downtown. After everyone got ready, we went up to Buffalo Park where we got some great images. You can check out their slideshow here. Here are a few of my favorites! Congrats!

Gone but not forgotten-Ken Lamppa

Last night, Grant's cousin, Ken Lamppa lost his battle to cancer. For those of you who were at my wedding, Ken sang my favorite John Denver song, "For You", during the ceremony. Most of you probably didn't know, but that song was VERY important to me. My mom, who passed away in 1984, and I used to sing John Denver songs together when I was a little girl, so it was extremely sentimental to me. I had given up hope to find someone to sing it when Ken graciously volunteered to come from Minnesota to perform it. It turned out, Ken was one of the most accomplished singers that I've ever heard. There are many things that I remember on that day...the sun peaking through the clouds as we read our vows, the look on my husband's face, my dads tears, and the beauty of Ken's voice when he sang that song for us. I'll never forgot that moment. Adieu our dear cousin; thanks for making such a difference in our lives!
