This frozen adventure started last year when I started talking to the bride about her date, Memorial Day Weekend. She and I were discussing venues up here in the north country and the Nordic Center seemed to be the perfect place. (No way did either of us expect snow on Memorial Day!) She and her husband are both avid cyclists (Linden's a Pro Mountain Biker!) and they wanted to get married at a place where they both felt most connected. I guess what we didn't count on was the SNOW! I guess that goes to show that the only weather you can count on in Flagstaff is to have some sort of unusual storm. Linden's family isn't from here and absolutely no one showed up prepared for the blizzard! Linden & Andy were great sports about it and just laughed at the wet surprise. I think the snow might have even added to the flavor of the wedding!
Thanks to Jamelle for helping me out and keeping a smile even through the snow! You would never know it was 30F by the look on her face! Just think Jamelle, one week prior we were ankle deep in the Sea of Cortez!
Thanks to event designer, Kim Duncan, for not only making the wedding a beautiful event, but for opening up her home for bridal portraits! Isn't that a great couch?
Linden has the most amazing eyes!
Linden wore her grandmother's jewelry from the early 1900s.
Main Street catered the event. And yes, their food is as delicious as it is beautiful!
The couple's friend, Eric, made this very fitting cake for them!
Linden and Andy trying to warm up. Thanks for bringing your cool light Jamelle!
These photos are from when it was dusk and the reception was just starting. Thanks to Wendell of the Nordic Center for starting this fantastic bonfire which helped warm everyone up!
And last but not least, this photo is an example of why we love Flagstaff. They make a great couple! Congrats Linden and Andy!

Rocky Point Wedding: Mandy and Jacob
I met Mandy last year in July when I was shooting her friend Melissa and Nick's wedding in Flagstaff. That wedding was so much fun! It's been a long time since I've seen so much dancing and laughing. I immediately clicked with everyone there; they were all so sweet to me. When Mandy asked me to shoot her wedding the next year, I jumped at the chance! I was so excited to see everyone again! The wedding was in Rocky Point, Mexico and it couldn't have been more beautiful. I was so impressed with the everything; the setting, the close-knit family, genuine life-long friends, the fantastic food, the perfect flowers, (made by her friend Melissa who is starting her own floral business in Tahoe!-more info to come I hope!) Her friend Kyla came all the way from Las Vegas to do her hair (she did Melissa's too! She should really specialize in wedding hair; they both looked fabulous!) I just fell in love with Mandy's mom, Karen, too. She was so nice to us and kept an eye out for everyone. (Thanks for the sandwiches and candy bars Karen!) But mostly, Mandy and Jacob were just a perfect couple; loving, funny, sweet, kind and willing to do just about anything that my second shooter, Jamelle and I would ask! I am just now beginning to process the photographs and I just couldn't wait to share a few. These are from Mandy's bridal portrait session. Isn't she beautiful? I'll post more during the week as they are processed and as I get my new computer set up that is lightening fast!! Thank you Mandy and Jacob for letting us be a part of your day!

Lia & Alex
I love twins! These guys were great to photograph...all personality! I love doing casual family sessions because you can really get some good expressions. Although, we did have to bribe Alex to stick around for the shoot. If memory serves me correctly, we got up to $5! Way to negotiate Alex! Here are a few shots from hanging out with them. Thanks for hanging out with me guys!
Lia is such a beautiful young woman!
A shot with mom, Lizette:
Check out Alex's eyes! WOW!
This is one of my favorites. I had just asked Alex if he had a girlfriend at school...check out his sister rolling her eyes! That house is going to be really fun in a few years!

Welcome Chloe!
This little girl arrived in early May and she couldn't have come any sooner. Waiting in the wings were eager grandparents, anxious parents and of course, a skeptical big sister. She's a beauty! I'm busy designing the birth announcement...more photos to come later!
I love little baby feet!
Big Sister Sophie keeps a watchful eye on me during the shoot:
